2K11 24/7

Doomz tackles a major challenge. A year at a time with daily updates!

The 2K11 24/7 CLXXIV: The First Day Back

Sometimes you've gotta go the short but sweet route.

We've all had those first days back to work that weren't QUITE what we'd expected.

The first day back is ALWAYS the hardest. After being away from a job for a while and having some sense of freedom from routine, you need to get back in the swing of things, and often FAR more quickly than you'd like.

But you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

So what do you do when you get sucker punched by missing lunch? (Stay with me here — it was a busy day, hence no time for lunch!)

  • Keep your friends close
  • Talk about it
  • Do some physical activity
  • Do something you love
  • Get some rest

Try one or more of these, and I think the next unexpected day you have will be a LITTLE bit easier.

As for me, I'm off to try the last one.

The 2K11 24/7 XCIV: Taking a Moment to Chill

This is going to be a shorter one.

Sometimes the mind is a little bit blanker, or the day's a little bit duller, and one simply has next to nothing to say.

This isn't a bad thing — it's bound to happen; after all, we're all human and we only have so much energy.

The more important lesson to keep in mind at these points is that this too shall pass.

The soul shall renew. The hectic moments will go away. And then, there will be a moment to breathe.

Simply breathe.

Relish those moments. In the world that I know many of my readers share, the world is fraught with numerous things to worry and stress about.

Sometimes, you just need to stop. Reflect. And just enjoy the moment for what it is.

Happy Monday, one and all!

The 2K11 24/7 XLIII: The Joy of Brevity -or- K.I.S.S.

Keep it Simple, Stupid (or Silly, if you're still in grade school…)

How to improve the content of what you write? It's such an elusive question. As you've all seen in action, I'm not much of one to write short posts on a topic - I tend to try and get as much information in a post as possible to make sure that I haven't missed anything. Yet, books like PROBLOGGER and how-to sites advise giving readers short morsels to consume quickly. Some friends say they relish my fulsome entries, other say it takes a lot of effort to get through them.

What do you guys think?

I'd love to see what the outcome is here - while one writes a message to get a point across, the messenger is also always trying to make sure it is heard by as many as possible. If I'm doing something that's preventing that, it's better for me to know about it!

It's not enough to be good at what you do - in this day and age, one must be REMARKABLE.

In other news:

  • The contest for 1 of 3 vouchers for East Side Mario's is still happenin' on my other blog
  • I'm in a contest to name a cocktail - I'm in it to win it just for the sake of victory, to be honest - help me out! (Vote TRIUSCOVERY!)
  • Finally finished PROBLOGGER. I feel like I've learned something. Okay, several things. Time to put them into practice!

Alright, guys — let me know your thoughts and I hope to see you tomorrow!

Have an awesome one,
